Traveling to Gainesville is easy! Gainesville is one hour north of Atlanta on I-85, so no need to deal with Atlanta traffic! Flying into Atlanta Hartsfield Airport has many nonstop destinations, and Gainesville has direct limo transportation reserved in advance; no need to rent a car. |
Hotel rooms in Gainesville are readily available now! Your Summer Convention team is still negotiating with several hotels, but you may have a favorite chain to use points! Gainesville is on beautiful Lake Lanier, so hotel rooms are booked well in advance. We will have room blocks in three or four hotel options (economy, mid-priced and full service) … stay tuned!Two of the hotels are within walking distance of both our rehearsal venue and our main performance venue! |
What’s the temperature in July? Not as hot as you think!Gainesville is north of Atlanta, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Even the Summer Olympics in 1996 enjoyed many July days of 75 degrees high temperature. But bring sweaters … air conditioning in buildings can be quite chilly! |

Dahlonega is home to many N Ga wineries, with tasting tours available! Athens GA is home to the University of GA and many historic homes to tour, along with the State Botanical Gardens Helen GA is an alpine village theme and popular during the summer. Are any alphorn players coming to convention? We can arrange an alphorn performance if there are enough participants! Roswell GA is home to numerous antebellum homes that Sherman spared during the Civil War, many available for tours. |
